As an OCD therapist, my primary focus is on building rapport in an empathetic, non-judgmental environment. I've been a social worker for more than a decade, which has exposed me to the impact severe and persistent mental illness can have on an individual’s daily functioning. I also experienced childhood trauma that led to the need for therapy. I want to improve your quality of life, and I believe exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy is truly effective and life-changing. My other focus areas include grief and loss, trauma-informed care, and generalized anxiety and depression.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I don't have OCD, but I do have a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Living with that diagnosis allows me to empathize with Members who live with OCD and the struggles they endure on a daily basis.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I want my Members to be themselves. I encourage that by being open, friendly, and, most importantly, non-judgmental. My Members often notice my upbeat personality, and they've shared that this helps them feel safe and comfortable in sessions.
What I want to help you see in yourself
I want to help my Members see the strength they already have—the strength that has allowed them to cope with the struggles of OCD thus far. Even when things feel overwhelming, there is resilience there. My goal is to help you recognize it and trust it.
My message to you if you're considering therapy
If you're unsure about starting exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, I want you to know that ERP is an evidence-based treatment with extensive research supporting it, and it works. I encourage you to give it a chance. You don't have to do it perfectly—you just have to be willing to try.
