Get to know Kiran

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I know many who people who have OCD. It's more common than most people think, and it's important to be knowledgeable about it so I can help Members who are dealing with it. I also have family and friends with various mental health conditions, which makes me want to help people improve their lives and strengthen our communities.

How my background shapes my approach

I grew up in Singapore, lived in Indonesia for a few years, and now live in the U.S., so I've interacted with people from many different cultures. That diversity has helped me stay open to new people and their stories, remain culturally competent, and always be willing to learn. As a racial minority myself, I know how important it is to be understanding and open to different experiences.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I reassure my Members that what we talk about is confidential and judgment-free. I want you to feel free to share whatever you want so we can process it together. My Members have said they appreciate that I'm calm, willing to listen, and able to help them feel comfortable throughout the process.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I want you to see that you can get back control from OCD. You can resist compulsions, face situations that bring anxiety, and get through it. I want you to see yourself as capable, strong, and able to take your life back.

Good experience

Kiran has been my therapist for many months now and has helped me tremendously with my OCD. He’s not only helped me be able to face the bully in my head everyday with great handling, but has also helped me in every other aspect of my thoughts, feelings and emotions as well. He actively listens well, and gives the advice and support necessary for anyone including myself to succeed. Wouldn’t have made it this far without his will and passion to help me help myself and his support and guidance to overcome the hardest challenges of everyday life in particular OCD and anxiety. Sincerely advise to get him as your therapist if you’re ready to take that next step in fighting the bullies existing in our head!
