I'll work with you to break down your obsessions and intrusive thoughts into their separate parts — thoughts, physical feelings, and actions. We'll identify and rank situations that may elicit the desire to act upon your compulsions, then systematically work on sitting with the discomfort of the situation until your need to engage in compulsions is reduced and your anxiety is no longer overwhelming. My background includes administering therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and working with adult mental health conditions including PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar II disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I have a phobia, and while it may not be the same as OCD, it has taken a lot for me to face the uncertainty when it comes to my feared triggers. So while I may not have your exact lived experience, I am committed to understanding OCD and walking alongside you. I've had the privilege of working closely with many people who have OCD, and I've developed a deep respect for the strength it takes to challenge intrusive thoughts, and tolerate uncertainty.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
From the beginning, I emphasize that this is a space where all thoughts can be spoken aloud without judgment, even those that feel shameful, bizarre, or distressing. Because OCD often targets what we value most, I work to build trust by showing a compassionate understanding of the OCD cycle and differentiating the person from the condition. I reinforce that your vulnerability is a strength and that speaking the unspeakable is part of the healing.
What sets me apart as a therapist
My background as a Haitian American has deeply influenced how I approach mental health. I come from a culture where resilience is vital, community matters, and family and values often play central roles. At the same time, I understand how stigma around mental health can make it hard to talk openly about emotional struggles. Because of that, I'm especially sensitive to the importance of creating a non-judgmental space where people feel seen, heard, and respected.
What I want to help you see in yourself
I want to help you recognize the strength, resilience, and worth you already carry, even if it feels buried beneath fear, shame, or self-doubt. Many people come to therapy focused on what's wrong with them, but I aim to help them uncover what's right, what's enduring, and what's still growing. I want you to see that you are capable of making meaningful choices even when anxiety, trauma, or old patterns try to convince you otherwise.

Ashley has been really great in guiding me through ERP. It isn’t easy, and I first I was hurt but the rigidity of it. But I realize Ashely was just doing what she needed to do to give me the tools to not make my OCD worse. She’s very good!
