Why I became a therapist
I became a therapist because I wanted to help people find ways to cope with some of the things we all experience in day-to-day life, especially the things that are outside of our control. I decided to specialize in OCD because I understand how challenging it can be. When intrusive thoughts take over, it can be very difficult to move through life in the way you want to.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
One of the ways I create a safe environment is by recognizing that you are the expert on what you've experienced daily. I'm not here to judge you, but rather to be a collaborator in your healing journey. I strive to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to heal.
My message to you if you're considering therapy
If you're considering exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy but feeling nervous, that's totally understandable. ERP isn't meant to be scary, but it is meant to bring up some anxiety. Just know that your therapist will be with you every step of the way, supporting you as you move through the discomfort.
How I approach therapy
I always come from a place of real consideration for you as a human being and how you move through the world. Every person is different, no matter their community, gender, or religion, and there's always an opportunity to understand the individual right in front of me. I bring that human perspective into every session.
