As an OCD therapist, I treat the whole person, not just their symptoms. We will focus on reducing your compulsions and avoidance, but I will also pay close attention to emotional, relational, and physiological factors that can affect your treatment, such as sleep, nutrition, stress, trauma history, substance use, and social support. I enjoy seeing people regain hope and a sense of control. I'm a trauma-informed clinician, and I also specialize in treating PTSD and substance use disorders, which can occur alongside OCD and influence each other.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I have an anxiety disorder, and a lot of my loved ones have mental health issues. I've seen how it feels when a therapist treats you like a diagnosis or a symptom instead of a person. Because of that, I try to see Members as people—not their diagnosis, not their chart, not their symptoms. I want them to feel seen and heard by at least somebody in their life.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I treat my Members with respect and dignity, and I make it clear that this is not a judgmental space. I may use some of my personal or family experience—connecting a feeling with a situation helps my Members understand they're not alone. I want them to feel safe enough and understood enough to open up, even if that feels scary at first.

How my background shapes my approach

A single mother raised me, and I've seen what it's like for people to struggle in multiple areas and not feel like they're treated as a person. I also have children in the LGBTQ+ community, and I've seen them struggle with identity, bullying, and trying to fit in. Those experiences shape how I show up—with respect, dignity, and without judgment.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I want my Members to see that they have the power and ability to be themselves, not allow OCD or anxiety be the boss of them. They can feel empowered and work toward the goals they want. Seeing my Members find their own voice and strength and regain their quality of life is incredibly meaningful.
