I specialize in the OCD community because of my daughter's struggle with OCD. My approach to therapy is compassionate and person-centered. I bring patience, empathy, and love for others, regardless of their struggle. I don't judge. You'll be safe here, whatever you share with me. You're taking a step in the right direction by asking for help. What you're experiencing can be managed if you remain committed to the therapeutic journey. Beyond OCD, I hold certifications in grief and bereavement and Christian counseling.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

My daughter deals with contamination OCD. While it's really been a struggle for us, it's helped me to better understand what Members are dealing with, and what their families are experiencing as well. This situation with my daughter has taught me patience, because I didn't understand what she was going through before I was educated on OCD. I've learned so much thanks to ERP training.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I want you to be able to be transparent with me. When we're together, it's a safe space. Sometimes, I'll share my experience with my daughter, which can help Members feel less alone. I know from my daughter that even if your compulsions don't make much sense to other people, they make sense to you. I use that experience to encourage members to talk about what's really going on, so I can better understand it.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I always say "you have OCD, but OCD doesn't have you." It's challenging, it's difficult, and a lot of times it feels shameful, but I want you to know that you can handle this.

My message to you if you're struggling right now

It's normal to be scared, but you have to take that chance to step outside of your comfort zone. If you don't step outside that comfort zone, you don't grow or elevate.
