I focus on helping members gradually confront their fears through structured exposures while resisting the urge to engage in compulsions. I create a collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationship to ensure members feel understood and empowered throughout their journey. Therapy is a safe and confidential space designed to support open and honest communication. By combining these strategies, I aim to provide a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan that addresses both the cognitive and behavioral aspects of OCD. My other areas of professional focus include anxiety, depression, and specific phobias.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

My mom has really bad anxiety and OCD. My sister has anxiety and depression. I have anxiety, and I have experience with some symptoms of OCD, like ruminating a lot.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I find a lot of people with OCD struggle with showing compassion towards themselves. They'll be really, really hard on themselves. If I notice that coming out in session, I try to have that conversation about being kind to yourself and recognizing that this is an ongoing process. Self-criticism isn't going to make things easier. You're already struggling with OCD, and that's hard enough. This is like kicking yourself while you're down. Let's try to reframe things.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I'll always let you know, especially if you're dealing with more taboo kinds of thoughts, that there's nothing you can say that's going to make me think differently of you or lead me to judge you. Those taboo thoughts? They're just another day for me. I know they can be really, really scary and distressing, but there's nothing I haven't heard.

My message to you if you're considering therapy

You are guiding this, and we will not move forward until you are ready, until you feel confident. I will never have you do something I wouldn't do. I won't put you in harm's way. I'll meet you where you're at. There's no timeline for this. I'm asking you to trust me, and it takes time to build that trust. We work our way up.

Good experience

My therapist is amazing, and the best therapist I’ve ever had. She truly takes the time to listen to me and I would be nowhere as far as I am without her. I highly recommend her.
