My message to you if you're thinking about starting therapy

I expect you to be hesitant. I expect you to be scared. Those are common feelings. You're trying something new. My vision, goal, and purpose is to help you keep showing up even when it's hard. I'm like that cheerleader that's saying "You can do it!" and before you know it, you find yourself on the other side.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I think that once we allow ourselves to show up with humanity, we have the ability to connect with people and help them understand that we are invested in their care.

What I want to help you achieve

I want to see you show up in your life and not have OCD feel as if it's controlling you.

The most rewarding part of treating OCD

There's a part of ERP where you start to learn that you can tolerate uncertainty and you have the ability to sit with discomfort. It starts in your first session. The even better part is when you've just had a moment where you were able to do a hard thing.

Good experience

After 5 years of suffering in silence, and having tried other types of therapy, I finally found Nocd, ERP & Rue. Rue was the first therapist I was paired with & I wouldn't change that for the world. Whether it is just providing a safe space for me to discuss what I am currently feeling, experiencing or struggling with, or if it is actively working through triggers & exposures, I always leave our sessions feeling positive, ready to face the day & confident that I have someone who will always provide me with positive, sound advice. Exposures can be scary at times, but I have always felt there is someone there as my safety net when I need it - and that's Rue. I used to (and I sometimes still do!) struggle with the shame and embarrassment that comes with certain OCD themes and anxiety; however, Rue has continuously helped me with reframing my thinking, becoming more self compassionate and acknowledging every win (especially the small ones). If you do choose to do ERP therapy with Rue, you won't regret it!! ❤️
