Resolving OCD is about learning to be present with the discomfort that is a natural part of life. This isn’t just an OCD skill — it’s a quality-of-life skill. I'm here to support you in regaining your life. I will ask you to do hard things like challenging your obsessions and compulsions, in the service of empowering you to overcome OCD. This process will be hard, but living with OCD is harder. My background is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which has the aim of helping people build a life worth living.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I had a lot of anxiety when I was growing up. It led me to hold myself back from a lot of opportunities out of fear. I made a point to really put myself deliberately in situations that made me anxious and I actually now experience a lot less of that anxiety. In that sense, I can really relate to the feeling of taking on a challenge that I think a lot of people might experience early on in this process.

Why I started treating OCD

It really resonated with me how often OCD is misdiagnosed and how many times people weren't able to be connected to the treatment that they really deserved. That was the catalyst for me wanting to specialize in it.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I really believe anxiety—regardless of how it shows up—tends to undermine a person's perception of their own capability, so I try to draw out moments of small and big wins that you've had when anxiety has been present. I think that can be a way for you to feel brave enough to take your treatment a step further.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I truly do feel that happiness for people as they accomplish the things that they want to. That becomes something for us to celebrate together. I've had some Members express that it's really nice to be able to share those successes without right away jumping to what's next.
