I've struggled with OCD for 30 years and never knew!! I always behaved differently or had these intrusive thoughts that I thought everyone else had. After becoming pregnant, I felt so out of control mentally. A friend recommended calling NOCD and I'm so glad I did. I began working with Monica after being diagnosed with OCD. It was really hard for me to open up about this but Monica immediately created a safe space for me. We eased into ERP and it was incredibly scary but so powerful to be able to learn how to take back my life from the grips of OCD. Monica has changed my life, as much as she reminds me I am also putting the work in, I wouldn't be where I am now without her. For the first time in my life I can think clearly, I'm not worried about things I can't control, and if I am, I use my response preventions she taught me. We always start off our sessions with a check up of how I'm feeling and if I have something unrelated or related to my OCD we process it prior to beginning ERP. I can't say enough great things about Monica. She is so kind, empathetic and supportive. She's helping me live my life freely and I am so grateful for her. It takes time and work to get here, but nothing worthwhile is easy. I went from being scared of therapy and my OCD to tackling it head on and enjoying life in the moment. Anything is possible.

Dealing with both harm, health, and somatic subtypes, I am always fearful of what I might say or what could be interpreted by a therapist as something so disturbing that I feel isolated or alone.
