My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I have a family member with OCD and I've seen how debilitating it can be. As a result, I have a lot of empathy and compassion for my Members.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I'm a really active listener. There's a lot of information that we have to take in and jot down to make sure we're set up to do ERP, but I like to make it more conversational and not like I'm running through a list of questions. Members can feel my focus on them.
What I want to help you see in yourself
Confidence is a really big one. Usually when we're avoiding our fears, we feel like we're not competent enough to tackle them. I want my Members to be really proud of themselves about how they were able to overcome fears and better tolerate difficult things.
My message to you if you're struggling right now
OCD can bleed into everything, but Members are able to get their lives back through ERP.
