My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I have generalized anxiety and social anxiety. My experience allows me to better understand the Member's perspective. I can empathize with them and help them gain more motivation to stick with ERP.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I validate Members' experiences and I provide a lot of education by explaining what they can expect during the ERP process. I let them know it's not forever and that they will be able to see an end to therapy.

What I want to help you see in yourself

I want my Members to learn about their OCD and get familiar with it. This allows them to catch OCD right when it's triggered so they can handle it quickly. I want them to have all the tools, knowledge, and confidence to tackle it. I find Members are just afraid of being afraid. Sometimes they can't even pinpoint exactly what they're scared about, but they know they're afraid of their OCD. Once they get past that hurdle with ERP, their anxiety lessens.

What sets me apart from other ERP therapists

I'm an immigrant and I've helped Members with OCD fears tied to their identity. Sometimes symptoms that they report are related to their culture or upbringing, and I know how to address those fears without shaming them. I can also help Members figure out how to talk to loved ones about therapy if it's something their culture looks down upon.
