I approach treating OCD like a determined detective solving a tricky puzzle: We work together to uncover the patterns and compulsions, then break them down, piece by piece. My toolkit is filled with evidence-based strategies like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and cognitive restructuring, plus a healthy dose of humor to make the process a little less daunting. We'll show OCD who’s boss while reclaiming the life it’s been trying to control! In addition to OCD, I focus on treating anxiety disorders and trauma-related conditions like PTSD.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I didn't realize that what I was experiencing for years was relationship OCD. I realized it within the first week or two of NOCD's training. I can also relate to people who have had trauma in their life-anything from postpartum depression to extreme anxieties. I deeply love someone that has pretty severe PTSD. My husband was infantry in the Marine Corps for 20 years. He still struggles a lot with depression and flashbacks and anger issues, and I love him through it.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
Educating people about difficult topics usually makes them a little more likely to open up about those topics. My Members usually tell me, "I've never had a therapist tell me that," or "I've never felt comfortable talking about this with any other therapists before."
My message to you if you're struggling right now
There are lots of people out there who have gone through the ERP process, and they've had a significant reduction in symptoms because of it. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of former and current NOCD Members that can attest to its effectiveness. Involve yourself in the NOCD community. Go into that community tab and see firsthand that you're not the only one struggling with that specific obsession or fear.
