As a therapist and social worker, my goal has always been to help those who feel judged or mistreated. I want to help de-stigmatize OCD treatment and work toward a world in which people's needs are taken seriously. My approach to OCD therapy is person-centered. I'll meet you where you are and support you no matter what. In our sessions, you are steering the ship; I'm just here to assist you. My professional experience includes working in a community mental health center and with families who've recently experienced homelessness.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
My great-grandparents suffered from undiagnosed OCD, and I saw the severe impact it had on them. That was part of the reason that I wanted to get into mental health. I also dealt with anxiety when I was younger and went through lots of treatment for it, but it wasn't talked about when I was growing up. It was sort of a taboo subject. I like being part of a generation that's changing that narrative.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I try to go above and beyond to show you that there's nothing you can say or do that will shock me. I can't tell you how many times I have Members apologize to me for "word vomiting," as they say. And I stop them like, why are you apologizing? You're in therapy. That's what we're here for. I'm someone you can tell anything to and I'm not going to run away screaming.
My message to you if you're struggling right now
Anxiety likes to psych us out from doing what we know would be good for us. In my experience, folks struggle with realizing how brave and strong they actually are. I can't tell you how many times I've been in sessions where people say, "Thank you so much for helping me with this." And I just have to reflect it back: "I appreciate the kind words, but I did nothing. This was all you."
