How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
I believe in the importance of creating a safe space for you to be 100% yourself, because you are the expert on yourself. I might be an expert on what mental health conditions can look like, but you're the expert on how OCD impacts your life day-to-day. I really strive to come from a place of seeking to understand you, rather than telling you how it is.
My message to you if you're nervous about starting therapy
It's really, really brave to know that you want better for yourself. Even just thinking about taking the step to get help is huge. It takes a lot of guts to share your deepest darkest fears with someone. If you believe that better is possible for you, you need to hold onto that hope and trust the process. Yeah, it can be hard at times—I'm not going to lie to you—but, you're here for a reason. That reason is to get your life back.
What my Members say helps them feel comfortable with me
I've gotten good feedback about the way I balance addressing really hard things with also being a bit more lighthearted. People have said they feel safe with me—that I'm someone they can both laugh and cry with.
