I struggled with OCD in college and know firsthand how debilitating it can be. I went through treatment, and it was life-changing. Today, I love to help other people who struggle with OCD and see them get better. NOCD Therapy will be challenging, but OCD is probably much more difficult. By doing the work, over time things will become easier. You can get your life back, one that's not dominated by OCD. I will be here to support you every step of the way. I've worked with children, adolescents, and adults with diagnoses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and conduct disorder.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

Depression, anxiety, and OCD run in my family. I have had depression and anxiety, and I struggled with OCD during my second year of graduate school in particular. Mine involved checking things like before I could leave the house, and it was very debilitating. So I'm really happy when I'm able to help people improve their symptoms.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

I try to be very accepting and have this be a very safe place for you to feel comfortable-comfortable with me and comfortable with talking about some of the things that are going on with you. I always tell people, don't ever feel bad about saying something, because nine times out of ten, a lot of other people have gone through that same thing.

What I want to help you see in yourself

Your strengths and your ability to get better. Some of my Members have talked about just enjoying life more, and not spending hours a day worrying. If I can get all of my Members there, that will be great.

My message to you if you're struggling right now

I've worked with a lot of people who have been in that spot where they felt stuck, they felt like they weren't ever going to get better, and had that hopelessness about it. ERP really works. I've seen people make so much progress. So give it a chance.

Good experience

I started seeing Jennifer with OCD symptoms that were substantially impacting my personal and professional life as well as my relationships with others. She provided a safe space for me to discuss my experiences and work on confronting the worst of my symptoms. I've had some bad experiences with mental health professionals that left me feeling cynical about seeking. In addition to helping me learn about my OCD symptoms and tools for working on them, Jennifer has shown me how impactful treatment can be when I have a provider who listens with empathy and compassion and works with me to find an effective treatment plan. I have grown so much through working with Jennifer, and I'll forever be grateful to her.
