My message to you if you're struggling right now

OCD is going to make you feel like you're incompetent. It's going to tell you that you cannot do things. The reality is, you can do whatever you want to do.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I struggle with panic disorder, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder. I understand what panic feels like. I know the feeling of, "I need to go to the hospital because I think I'm having a heart attack." I know how intense those feelings are, and I know how real those fears can get.

Why I got into treating OCD

There was a show on MTV called True Life and when I saw the episode "True Life: I have OCD," I was so fascinated by that urge of absolutely having to do something. After graduating from undergrad, I got a position at a residential OCD treatment program where I really got to dive in and do intense therapy for people from all over the world with significant symptoms.

What my Members say helps them feel comfortable with me

I always introduce my pets when I meet someone for the first time. They're usually right by me—my cat might be passed out in my lap, or my dog might be on the couch. I always try to bring up some kind of commonality, too.
