My approach to treating OCD entails gathering as much information as possible, establishing a plan, and checking in regularly. I recognize the importance of a great therapeutic relationship, listening to people, and meeting them where they are. Maintaining open dialogue is important. OCD therapy is not an easy process, but it's definitely worth it! My other areas of focus include depression, anxiety, life changes/adjustments, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health
I have personal experience with anxiety, especially when it comes to big changes in my life. I've worked with different therapists, which has helped me a whole lot with that. When it comes to ERP, it helps me have the grace and the compassion to understand when someone says something like, "I just can't, I get so anxious over this." I can relate to that.
How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy
Sometimes I feel like it comes naturally. I've been doing this for a while, about 10 years. I definitely take time to get to know you outside of OCD—and that's throughout the session, not just at the beginning. I feel like we can all relate to something when it comes to each other, so I try to find that common ground. I'll also share personal stories and my journey with you so we can feel like we relate to each other.
What I want to help you see in yourself
That you have the tools, that you can do it, and that you are learning something that can be very beneficial to you. I love how you can become your own ERP specialist for yourself, once you go through this process. I also want to help you see that this is a journey of growth. And growth isn't just straight. You go up and down, around the corner.
My message to you if you're struggling right now
I encourage you to stick it out, because things do get better. And think about the good times, or times when it wasn't too bad, because a lot of the times when we're struggling, we think, "This is the worst ever." But you've been in those shoes before, and you got out of it.

My therapist has helped me start accepting my diagnosis and realize I haven’t lost my mind. The way she works with me to customize ERP to meet my needs but still challenges me to face my fear is in invaluable. I’m grateful for her support, kindness, and expertise.
