Experience in treating OCD: I am founder and director of the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington (BTC), widely acknowledged as the premier treatment center for OCD in the Mid-Atlantic region for over four decades. As director and therapist at BTC, I have been involved in the treatment of thousands of patients with OCD and OC related disorders and the training of hundreds of clinicians, many of whom have become acknowledged OCD experts in the field. I am a faculty member of IOCDF's Behavior Therapy Training Institute, have served on the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of IOCDF for over two decades, was a founder, past president and current member of OCD Mid-Atlantic (an IOCDF affiliate), served as member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Tourette's Association of Greater Washington, and was a founding member, past president, and am a current member of the TLC Institute for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors' (BFRBs) Scientific Advisory Board, where I also serve as director of their Professional Training Institute. I have presented over 300 training workshops locally, nationally, and internationally and have authored numerous articles for professional journals, book chapters and books on OCD and related topics and participated in research on these topics. I created the widely used Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) Treatment for BFRBs and introduced the concept of Tourettic OCD (TOCD) into the professional literature.

About: Many people in the OCD community know me, as I have been around long enough to have been called a "pioneer" in the field. With over 40 years of experience working with OCD I have never grown tired of my work. OCD remains fascinating to me, and it has been a privilege to work with so many patients with that problem. OCD sufferers and their families are an incredible group of largely decent, talented, and appreciative people. Also very special is the community of dedicated OCD professionals, many of whom are my colleagues and friends. Clinical work continues to be rewarding to me because I have seen so many of our patients put those problems behind them and show the capabilities and achievements possible when OCD is effectively addressed. I am proud of my colleagues at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington for their skillful dedication to their clinical work and for the scores of our trainees that that now constitute a substantial body of OCD treatment specialists across the nation.
