In my youth, I counted each syllable of every word in my head, using my fingers while doing it. I can still recall the daily stress as I tried to fit in while hiding my hands. More recently, my mother was diagnosed with OCD near the end of her life. Everything inside the home had to be perfect, and it made her life challenging. These experiences led me to a path of helping others with OCD. I graduated from the University of Washington to become a social worker, but moved into therapy ten years ago. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy to create positive changes in people’s lives.

I've been a licensed clinical social worker with over 16 years of extensive experience, with much of my career working in a hospital setting where I saw many people with OCD (along with other issues such as trauma, depression, and anxiety).
