I’ve been a licensed therapist for over 10 years, primarily working in an inpatient mental health hospital where patients often showed OCD symptoms. I’ve also spent time handling health crisis calls helping people navigate their OCD. The first line of treatment to free people of their obsessions over intrusive thoughts is ERP, known as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. ERP teaches you how to accept these thoughts, so you can live the life you want.
I’ve become a therapist that specializes in OCD because I want people to know that they can get better and that their lives don’t have to be debilitated by their disorder. By accepting intrusive thoughts, you’ll lose your obsession with them leading to the experience of having them pass by like any other thought. It’s my goal to get you through the process of learning how to manage your OCD and to do so in a safe and accepting environment. As your therapist, I want to discover your strengths so we can use them during sessions. I’ve always held an interest in helping people, which allows me to learn about who you are and what challenges you're facing. You’ll find nothing but positive motivation when you're working with me.
