My experience with treating OCD began by identifying it within other health challenges, including substance abuse and domestic violence cases. Additionally, working with active military members and their families gave me a different perspective on treating OCD. Now that I'm a therapist that specializes in OCD, I can pull from what I've learned about treatment and use it with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy to provide you with the best type of quality care.
You've decided to seek help with your OCD, and that takes a lot of courage to do. Intrusive thoughts are not easy to share with others because people, in general, don't understand what OCD does to a person. I know your OCD is not you, so if you're feeling ashamed or afraid to open up about your OCD, you won't get any judgment from me. It's time you took that big first step to getting better. You'll find me caring and supportive, but I'll challenge you when it's time. I'm a solution-focused therapist. I will show you what you need to do to reach your goals and what I can do to help you get there. Your treatment will involve ERP, which can be challenging, but the larger reward of getting your life back from OCD is worth it.
